Meet Quiltoni
Born in 1976 with an undiagnosed disaccharide intolerance, Toni spent her first two years in and out of hospitals, unable to process sugars like lactose, sucrose, or maltose. Her life changed in 1978 when her family moved to Columbus, Ohio. By chance, her mother reached a pediatrician, Dr. Klinger, who had recently treated a similar case at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He correctly diagnosed her condition, finally providing the specialized care she needed to grow and thrive.
Though Toni faced a difficult childhood marked by frequent hospitalizations, she eventually found a way to give back. Inspired by the programs offered by Starlight Children’s Foundation, which now operates in every hospital she once visited, Toni has raised over $65,000 since 2019 to bring joy and support to hospitalized children.
